GET INVOLVED
Here is an opportunity to do something that will
Impact The Community!
Help The Police make a difference
There are many ways to volunteer,
Here are ways you can help:
BECOME A BLOCK CAPTAIN
Residents are the eyes and ears for the police. One of the most effective tools in the crime fighting areseal is a good neighborhood watch program. It's a great way to stay on top of what's going on in your neighborhood and a great way to meet and network with others. The police in small communities cannot be everywhere and see everything. Your tips and community involvement are key in helping to keep Tekamah safe and crime free. Support forming a community watch group in your neighborhood. You will be surprised to learn about many of the things that go on right under your nose when you are away from home.
BECOME A VOLUNTEER
We are looking for seasoned citizens to volunteer to staff our new and upcoming community service desk. Senior volunteers will serve a few days a week answering telephone calls and providing information to the the public. The volunteers will also be tasked with patrolling the disabled parking areas checking for compliance and coordinating with Neighborhood Watch Block Captains.
We are also looking for volunteers to help with our Police Explorer program. Students 8 through18 will be able to participate in classes and events designed to keep them aware and informed of the changes in their environment and what to do to stay safe.
MAKE A
DONATION
We are in the process of renovating our police facility into a multipurpose community room. We will be accepting donations to begin contruction after October 2014. The Kewit Foundation has been contacted and asked to support our endeavor. They have agreed to help if the community gets involved and shows support for the endeavor. We want to continue to improve the quality of life and safety of our citizens. What better way than sharing our resources as a community and getting to know one another better? An account will be set up at Washington County Bank soon to accept your generous contributions to our project.
